Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney in Omaha, Nebraska, to provide high-quality legal representation and advice. The attorney will represent clients in court and other adversarial proceedings, including arbitrations and mediations. The ideal candidate is experienced in court pleadings and litigation processes, working with both business owners and individuals.

Duties

• Work collaboratively as part of a dynamic legal team.
• Represent clients and businesses in civil litigation and other legal proceedings.
• Partner with clients and their advisors to develop strategic plans.
• Draft and file briefs, motions, and other judicial pleadings.
• Conduct witness interviews and depositions, and manage discovery processes.
• Lead mediation sessions and provide strategic legal advice.
• Manage multiple clients and cases simultaneously.
• Participate in business development efforts.
• Supervise and mentor paralegals and staff.

Requirements

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience deposing and defending witnesses with jury trial experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Successful completion of the bar exam.
• Active member in good standing of the Bar in Nebraska; Iowa licensure preferred.

Skills

• Experience in medical malpractice, employment law, general commercial litigation, or civil litigation.
• Strong academic and professional credentials.
