Job Overview:
A highly respected law firm is actively recruiting a seasoned Immigration Partner to lead its business immigration practice. This position is designed for a senior attorney with deep expertise in employment-based immigration and a proven track record of client development and leadership. The role focuses on advising corporate clients on a broad spectrum of immigration matters, driving growth through business development, and mentoring a team of legal professionals. Candidates must bring a strong client portfolio and demonstrate excellence in client service and legal execution.

Location:

  • Hackensack, NJ

Duties:

  • Advise clients on complex business immigration matters including nonimmigrant and immigrant visa strategies

  • Manage and counsel on filings for E-1/E-2, H-1B, L-1, O-1, and EB-1/2/3 classifications

  • Provide guidance on adjustment of status and related immigration processes

  • Deliver strategic legal advice to corporate clients in diverse sectors

  • Monitor and interpret U.S. immigration policy changes and ensure client compliance

  • Collaborate with cross-functional legal teams to deliver integrated client solutions

  • Lead client engagements with a focus on risk mitigation and process improvement

  • Drive practice development through networking, expanding existing relationships, and originating new business

  • Mentor and develop junior attorneys and staff within the immigration practice group

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business immigration law

  • Existing portable book of corporate immigration business strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated leadership in client management, legal team oversight, and practice development

  • Experience advising employers in various industries on immigration strategy and compliance

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (NY or NJ preferred based on office location)

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. immigration laws and agency procedures

  • Exceptional drafting, research, and communication skills

  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships

  • Entrepreneurial approach to business development

  • Strong organizational and mentorship skills

  • Capacity to manage a high-volume, high-impact caseload
