Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated and experienced mid-level associate to join its Business and Commercial Disputes practice in Miami, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in complex commercial disputes, with a particular interest or experience in cross-border litigation and arbitration.

Duties

  • Represent clients in international commercial arbitration and investor-State disputes.
  • Handle complex transnational litigation matters, including jurisdictional challenges and enforcement of foreign judgments.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs in federal and state courts, as well as arbitral tribunals.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on international law and procedural rules.
  • Collaborate with global teams and coordinate multi-jurisdictional litigation strategies.
  • Participate in client development and thought leadership initiatives.

Requirements

  • J.D. from a top-tier law school; strong academic credentials.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial litigation, preferably with exposure to international arbitration.
  • Prior work with international law firms or boutique arbitration practices.
  • Familiarity with arbitration rules (ICSID, ICC, UNCITRAL, SIAC).
  • Experience in Latin American legal systems or cross-border disputes involving Latin America.
  • Experience working with sovereign entities or international organizations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.

Education

  • J.D. from a top-tier law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Florida Bar.
