Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employment Attorney - Associate in San Diego, CA. The role involves defending employer clients in employment litigation and responding to administrative charges. Candidates should reside near San Diego, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, CA.

Duties

  • Defend clients in employment-related claims.
  • Investigate claims and develop case strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft legal documents including letters, memos, and pleadings.
  • Prepare discovery requests and take/defend depositions.
  • Represent clients at court conferences, hearings, and mediations.
  • Communicate regularly with partners, clients, and opposing counsel.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Current California bar admission, in good standing.
  • 2+ years of experience, employment law background preferred.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Team player with strong personal interaction skills.
  • Self-starter with organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Understanding of state and federal procedures.
  • Comfortable with court appearances and depositions.
  • Trial experience preferred, but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Current California bar admission, in good standing.
