Job Overview:
A growing law firm with a statewide presence is seeking a skilled Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join its Sacramento office. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 10 years of relevant experience, strong litigation instincts, and a self-motivated approach. Location:

  • Sacramento, California

Duties:

  • Represent employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation claims

  • Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations

  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements

  • Manage discovery and case development

  • Analyze medical and factual evidence

  • Negotiate settlements and participate in strategy discussions

  • Maintain timely communication with clients and team members

  • Meet case deadlines and billing requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in workers' compensation

  • Ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Immediate availability preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar

  • Must provide CA Bar Number in application

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of California workers’ compensation law

  • Strong written and oral advocacy

  • Legal research and case analysis

  • Time management and attention to detail

  • Client relations and negotiation skills

  • Familiarity with case management systems and remote collaboration tools
