Partner/Of Counsel - General Liability

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Partner/Of Counsel to join its General Liability team in Atlanta, GA. Duties

• Independently handle files from open to close, supervising associates and staff.
• Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Regularly represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Prepare for and attend trials; some travel may be required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 9+ years of civil litigation experience, focusing on personal injury defense and/or transportation.
• Experience handling civil cases from start to finish.
• Proficient in taking and defending depositions, including 30(b)(6) and experts.
• Skilled in drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trials.
• Experience in negotiations and mediations.
• Admitted to practice in the state of GA; additional states are a plus.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong research abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, self-management, and teamwork capabilities.
• Responsive to email and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner.
• Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships.
• No portable book of business required, but a plus.

Education

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in Georgia.
