Job Title: Senior Construction And Infrastructure Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A nationally respected law firm based in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to support its Construction & Infrastructure practice group. The role offers the opportunity to manage sophisticated legal disputes related to engineering and construction, often involving high-value infrastructure and energy projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid litigation background, ideally with experience or education related to construction or design. This position provides significant client interaction, the chance to work with senior attorneys on complex cases, and an environment that fosters professional growth through increasing responsibility and leadership within client matters.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in complex construction and infrastructure-related commercial disputes

  • Draft, review, and manage legal documentation, pleadings, and motions

  • Conduct fact investigations, depositions, and discovery management

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary legal teams in high-stakes litigation

  • Engage with clients and experts to develop a case strategy and recommendations

  • Participate in hearings, arbitration, and trial proceedings as needed

  • Stay abreast of industry-specific developments impacting clients in the construction and infrastructure sectors

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, preferably focused on commercial construction or infrastructure matters

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal issues independently and in a collaborative team setting

  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills

  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and good standing

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing; eligibility to practice in Missouri or willingness to seek admission

Skills:

  • Litigation strategy and risk assessment in complex commercial matters

  • Knowledge of the construction and design industry (educational background or experience preferred)

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Client management and business acumen

  • Familiarity with arbitration and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms

  • Effective multitasking and case prioritization under tight deadlines
