Job Overview

A law firm seeks a finance associate to join its Project and Energy subgroup in San Francisco, CA. The role focuses on energy transition financing matters, offering the opportunity to work on internationally recognized projects, including novel financing deals in the energy transition space.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Draft well-reasoned legal documents, including briefs, motions, and contracts.
  • Assist in managing complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional support and advice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative case strategies.
  • Participate in high-level legal activities such as court hearings and negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and stay updated on legal precedents.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance legal and leadership skills.
  • Contribute to firm programs, civic organizations, and pro bono work.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in energy transition finance matters.
  • Experience in financing and M&A of energy transition projects and companies.
  • Proven experience in tax equity and renewable energy tax credit monetization.

Education

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice in the state of California.
