Duties

  • Serve as lead counsel on client matters including prenuptial agreements, divorce, custody, support, and related family law issues.
  • Advise and advocate for clients with empathy and clarity, maintaining focus on their goals while guiding them through negotiation, mediation, or litigation as needed.
  • Conduct client strategy sessions and case planning.
  • Draft, edit, and review motions, legal memos, financial statements, and agreements.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to support strategic initiatives and maintain high client service standards.

Requirements

  • A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • 2 to 7 years of hands-on experience practicing family or matrimonial law.
  • Admission to the New York Bar (Connecticut Bar admission is a bonus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Negotiation, litigation preparation, and client advisement skills.
  • Background or formal training in mediation is highly preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York Bar.
