Job Overview:
A client-focused litigation firm is seeking a Family Law Attorney to join its Clarksburg, West Virginia office. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, strategic, and driven to help individuals navigate some of life’s most challenging family law matters. This position is being recruited on behalf of the law firm by a legal recruiting agency.

Location:

  • Clarksburg, West Virginia

Duties:

  • Represent clients in family law proceedings, including hearings, mediations, trials, and appeals

  • Develop legal strategies aligned with client goals and provide consistent client communication

  • Draft pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders

  • Prepare equitable distribution charts and assist with property division, including real estate

  • Conduct file review meetings and ensure all casework is timely and compliant with procedures

  • Supervise and coordinate with legal support staff and paralegals

  • Monitor and manage retainer balances with assistance from the billing department

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and firm leadership on litigation strategy

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in West Virginia (required)

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Family law experience preferred but not required

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and empathetic under pressure

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and litigation skills

  • Willingness to travel as needed for case-related duties

Education:

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active member of the West Virginia Bar

Skills:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication
