Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney in Tampa, FL. The attorney will manage all aspects of litigation in state and federal courts, including pre-trial preparation, court appearances, and trial proceedings. This role requires a proactive approach to client representation and case management.

Duties

  • Meet with clients and file lawsuits.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery.
  • Schedule and attend fact witness depositions.
  • Retain and attend depositions of all appropriate experts.
  • Schedule and attend all hearings.
  • Prepare for and attend mediations.
  • Prepare cases for trial and try cases to verdict.
  • Prepare and file appropriate post-trial motions.
  • Attend file audits, litigation attorney meetings, and trial clinics.

Requirements

  • A license in good standing to practice law in Florida.
  • A proven track record of winning, including at least 2 jury trials as first chair.
  • Ability to handle a large and active caseload from filing through verdict.
  • Success in providing direction and guidance to a team of staff.
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Analytical and research skills.
  • A strong courtroom presence and eagerness to try cases.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the Florida Bar.

Skills

  • Strong litigation and trial skills.
  • Effective client communication and relationship management.
  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
