Job Title: Trial Associate Attorney

Job Location: Saint Louis, MO (Hybrid role)

Job Overview:
A dynamic law firm is seeking a motivated and ambitious Trial Associate Attorney to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with experience in Personal Injury and Workers' Compensation law who is eager to gain hands-on litigation experience. The position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing flexibility in work location based on court appearances and case needs.

Duties:

  • Take a lead role in managing litigation files, including drafting and arguing motions.
  • Handle day-to-day communication with opposing counsel.
  • Lead first-chair jury trials for smaller cases.
  • Serve as second-chair during jury trials for catastrophic loss cases.
  • Engage in appellate practice when necessary.
  • Conduct depositions for all cases in the firm's docket.
  • Work closely with the lead attorney to develop trial strategies and case development.
  • Draft written discovery and manage all aspects of pre-trial preparation.
  • Take and give depositions as part of case preparation.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in personal injury and workers’ compensation litigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cases from start to finish.
  • Capacity for high-level trial work, including first-chair and second-chair duties.
  • Proficiency in conducting depositions and managing written discovery.
  • Positive attitude, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
  • Licensed to practice law in Missouri. Preference is given to candidates licensed in Illinois, Arizona, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Kansas.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar membership in good standing (Missouri preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and courtroom skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
  • Knowledge of personal injury and workers’ compensation law.
  • Trial preparation and strategy development.

Job Location:

  • Saint Louis, MO (Hybrid position with work-from-home flexibility as court appearances allow).
