Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Criminal Defense & Family Law Associate Attorney in Kansas City, MO. This role involves representing clients in both criminal defense and family law matters, providing high-quality legal services in a supportive and collaborative environment. Duties

  • Represent clients in criminal cases at the state and/or federal level.

  • Perform legal research and investigative work.
  • Negotiate plea agreements and settlements.
  • Advocate for clients at hearings and trials.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing in Texas (MO, KS, IL a plus).
  • 1-3 years of experience in criminal defense and/or family law.
  • Strong litigation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and client advocacy.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (MO, KS, IL a plus).
