Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated attorney with over three years of experience to join their Employee Benefits/ERISA team in Des Moines. The ideal candidate will have significant experience advising employers on employee benefits matters, including the design, implementation, and compliance of retirement plans and executive compensation arrangements.

Duties

  • Advise employers on employee benefits matters.
  • Design and implement qualified and non-qualified retirement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Engage in ESOP transactions and represent clients in IRS audits and DOL investigations.
  • Draft plan documents, amendments, and related agreements.

Requirements

  • Over three years of relevant legal experience.
  • Familiarity with ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Experience in ESOP transactions and IRS/DOL representation.
  • Strong drafting and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of multitasking.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
