Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in New York is seeking a highly motivated and experienced M&A Associate Attorney (4th to 6th year) with a strong background in big law. The role centers on handling sophisticated mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, private equity, and financial institution transactions. Candidates must have a proven ability to lead deals, draft complex legal documents, and coordinate all phases of transactions. Duties:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of M&A transactions

  • Draft and negotiate definitive agreements

  • Advise clients on acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and joint ventures

  • Work with private equity funds and financial institutions

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex transactional matters

  • Maintain responsibility for deal execution and client interaction

Requirements:

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant experience at a major law firm

  • Demonstrated experience managing corporate transactions from inception to closing

  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills

  • Admission to the New York State Bar

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the New York Bar

Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in M&A legal frameworks and transactional law

  • Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Effective client communication and interpersonal abilities
