Associate Attorney with litigation experience

Job Overview

A Houston-based consumer law firm is currently seeking a full-time Attorney to join its litigation team. This position provides hands-on experience across all stages of civil litigation, including pre-suit evaluation, discovery, hearings, trial, and appeals. This is an in-office role offering valuable courtroom exposure and client interaction from day one, making it an excellent opportunity for recent law school graduates who are licensed to practice in Texas.

Duties

• Draft and review demand letters and case summaries

• Draft motions, responses, and other legal pleadings

• Attend and participate in depositions (taking/defending)

• Represent clients at mediations and court hearings

• Handle pre-trial and trial proceedings

• Engage in legal research and briefing as needed

• Review and manage discovery

• Maintain ongoing communication with clients

Requirements

• Interest in civil litigation across various stages, including trial and appeals

• Availability to work full-time on-site at the firm’s Houston office

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal setting

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school (Required)

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the state of Texas (Required)
