Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its Pittsburgh, PA office. The attorney will work on a diverse range of general litigation cases across various industries, providing expertise in areas from general business law to complex insurance coverage litigation.

Duties

• Provide analysis and counsel to clients on legal policy.
• Lead clients through the litigation process, including depositions and courtroom strategies.
• Offer legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits.
• Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing clients.
• Develop and recommend client policy and position on legal issues.
• Conduct research, interview clients and witnesses, and prepare for trial or depositions.
• Represent clients in various legal proceedings.
• Prepare for trial, including taking and defending depositions and written discovery.
• Draft briefs, pleadings, and dispositive motions.
• Write and administer complex legal arguments in court.
• Counsel clients on creating sound operating policies to avoid future litigation.
• Participate in practice group meetings and professional development initiatives.

Requirements

• License to practice law in Pennsylvania with bar admission in good standing.
• Degree from an accredited law school.
• 3-6 years of general litigation experience.
• Trial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
• Excellent communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
