Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Tax Attorney in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have expertise in tax-exempt law and reside in the DMV area. Some travel for client meetings is expected.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on tax-exempt matters.
  • Engage in transactional law activities.
  • Represent clients in IRS and/or Tax Court.
  • Advise on election law and lobbying registration.
  • Draft and review contracts and leases.
  • Assist with charitable state registration and antitrust issues.
  • Ensure corporate governance and compliance.
  • Handle trademark, data protection, and privacy matters.
  • Address employment law and pension plans.

Requirements

  • JD degree from an accredited US law school.
  • 6+ years of progressive legal experience.
  • LLM in tax preferred.
  • Proficient in transactional law.
  • Experience in IRS and/or Tax Court, election law, contracts, and more.

Education

  • JD degree from an accredited US law school.

Certifications

  • LLM in tax preferred.
