Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate for the Tax Controversy practice in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in handling complex tax disputes, including corporate, partnership, transfer pricing, international tax, SALT, and criminal tax matters.

Duties

  • Advise clients on complex tax issues at all stages of tax controversy matters.
  • Identify and manage potential tax controversies in transactions.
  • Collaborate with government agencies to minimize and resolve disputes.
  • Participate in litigation and team with appellate practice for tax appeal victories.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in complex tax disputes.
  • Experience with corporate, partnership, and international tax issues.
  • Familiarity with state and local tax (SALT) matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in the jurisdiction of practice.
