Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Corporate Aviation Of Counsel to join its Business and Transactions practice. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience managing complex corporate aviation transactions and advising clients directly. This is a high-touch role working with commercial airlines, leasing companies, and high-net-worth individuals across a variety of aviation-related matters.

Location:

  • Wilmington, DE

Duties:

  • Advise clients on corporate and commercial aircraft selection, financing, and acquisition

  • Handle all aspects of domestic and international aircraft transactions

  • Provide strategic counsel on FAA compliance and regulatory matters

  • Assist clients in navigating federal, state, and local tax implications of aviation transactions

  • Draft and negotiate purchase, lease, and financing agreements

  • Advise on aircraft customization, completion, and maintenance arrangements

  • Represent clients that include:

    • U.S. and foreign airlines

    • Corporate aircraft owners and lessors

    • High-net-worth individuals

    • Leasing companies, banks, and suppliers

  • Independently manage client relationships and legal engagements

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in corporate aviation transactions

  • Proven ability to independently advise clients and manage deals from start to finish

  • Active bar license in the state corresponding to the chosen office location

  • Strong command of FAA regulations and aviation-related legal frameworks

  • Book of business or ability to bring clients preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing membership in the state bar of the applicable office location

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of aviation law and corporate transactions

  • Strong negotiation and contract drafting capabilities

  • Ability to work with high-profile and international clients

  • Business development mindset

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strategic thinking and attention to detail

  • Capacity to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously
