Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of experience in bankruptcy law, particularly Chapter 11 bankruptcy, financial reorganizations, and creditors' rights. Location:

  • Wilmington, Delaware

Duties:

  • Handle Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, financial reorganizations, and creditors' rights matters.
  • Draft and review complaints, answers, discovery requests and responses, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and provide insightful analysis on bankruptcy-related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, co-counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in client meetings, negotiations, and strategy discussions.
  • Contribute to complex corporate restructuring matters, especially in the context of bankruptcy.
  • Handle lead and Delaware counsel engagements across various industries.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of experience in Chapter 11 bankruptcy, financial reorganizations, and creditors' rights.
  • Experience with complex corporate restructuring is preferred.
  • Strong writing skills, including drafting legal documents such as complaints, motions, and briefs.
  • Excellent research and oral communication skills.
  • Prior bankruptcy clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Must be admitted to or willing to take the Delaware Bar exam.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership (Delaware Bar preferred or willingness to take the Delaware Bar exam).

Skills:

  • Expertise in bankruptcy law and creditors' rights.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing complex legal documents.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Client-focused with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
