Senior Real Estate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a senior real estate attorney to join its Real Property Group in either Newark, NJ or New York, NY. Duties

• Handle complex lending transactions as a commercial real estate attorney.
• Negotiate substantive provisions of loan agreements, guarantees, and other loan documents independently.
• Review and negotiate sophisticated commercial leases for both landlord and tenant sides.
• Negotiate purchase and sale agreements for complex acquisitions and dispositions.
• Engage in redevelopment work in New Jersey as a bonus responsibility.

Requirements

• At least four years of experience in commercial real estate law.
• Significant experience in commercial real estate financing, preferably on the borrower side.
• Admission to practice law in New Jersey or New York, or both.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in New Jersey or New York.

Skills

• Strong negotiation skills for loan agreements and commercial leases.
• Ability to handle complex real estate transactions independently.
