Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled and dedicated attorney with significant experience in first-party homeowner property claims to join their team in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully representing homeowners against insurance companies in various disputes, including claims involving hail damage, wind damage, fire, water, and other perils.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of first-party homeowner property insurance claims from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
  • Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration.
  • Represent clients in court, including trials and hearings, as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and clear explanations of legal strategies.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys.
  • Stay abreast of developments in Colorado insurance law and property claims.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of litigation experience; first-party property damage experience is a plus.
  • Member of the Colorado Bar and in good standing.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado.

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
