Job Overview
A prestigious law firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced Senior Associate, Counsel, or Junior Partner with 8+ years of experience in estate and tax planning, including trust administration. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded Trusts & Estates Practice Group and provide sophisticated legal solutions in estate planning, business succession, and fiduciary services for high-net-worth individuals and families.

Duties

• Develop comprehensive estate and tax planning strategies for high-net-worth clients and multi-generational families
• Draft advanced estate planning documents, including revocable and irrevocable trusts (e.g., GST Trusts, GRATs, SLATs), wills, powers of attorney, and premarital agreements
• Advise on income, estate, gift, and GST tax laws
• Manage complex trust and probate administration matters
• Counsel clients on business succession and charitable planning strategies
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis on state and federal tax law issues
• Provide clear, concise communication, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex legal concepts

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in estate and tax planning, trust administration, and probate
• Strong knowledge of income, estate, gift, and GST tax laws
• Expertise in drafting sophisticated estate planning documents
• Ability to handle complex trust and probate matters
• New York and New Jersey law licenses required

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active Bar membership in New York and New Jersey
