Trial Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Trial Attorney in Mount Laurel, NJ, to join their expanding team. The role involves managing a diverse caseload of insurance defense and coverage matters, providing strategic legal guidance, and representing clients in various legal proceedings.

Duties

• Independently manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
• Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with client litigation and billing guidelines.
• Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.
• Advise clients on complex legal issues and provide strategic guidance.
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Conduct discovery, including interrogatories and document review.
• Perform detailed analysis of insurance policies for coverage obligations.
• Draft comprehensive coverage opinions and position letters.
• Negotiate and resolve coverage disputes with opposing counsel and insurers.
• Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff.
• Participate in marketing and business development activities.
• Attend industry conferences and networking events.
• Contribute to the firm's thought leadership through writing and presentations.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of General Liability defense experience required.
• Admitted to practice law in New Jersey state and federal court required.
• Experience with New Jersey State and Federal Rules of Court, Rules of Evidence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred.
• Self-motivated independent thinker with excellent time management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school required.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in New Jersey state and federal court.
