Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Partner to lead and expand its corporate immigration practice. This role is ideal for a senior attorney with a strong background in employment-based immigration and a portable book of business. The position focuses on providing strategic legal counsel to corporate clients across a variety of industries and jurisdictions. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to manage complex immigration matters, develop client relationships, and lead a high-performing legal team. Multiple office locations are available.

Location:

  • Buffalo, NY

Duties:

  • Advise clients on a full range of business immigration matters, including:

    • Nonimmigrant visas (E-1/E-2, H-1B, L-1, O-1)

    • Immigrant petitions (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3)

    • Adjustment of status applications

  • Provide strategic guidance to employers on workforce mobility and immigration compliance

  • Lead risk mitigation initiatives and develop best practices for immigration policies and programs

  • Counsel clients on maintaining compliance with U.S. immigration law and regulatory developments

  • Collaborate with legal teams to deliver integrated legal services across related practice areas

  • Lead client service initiatives and ensure high levels of responsiveness and legal quality

  • Drive practice growth through business development efforts, including expanding existing client relationships and sourcing new engagements

  • Mentor and support attorneys and staff within the immigration team

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business immigration law

  • Established client base or portable book of business involving corporate immigration matters

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in team management and client engagement

  • Proven success in business development and growing a legal practice

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (admission in New York or New Jersey preferred, depending on office location)

Skills:

  • Deep expertise in U.S. immigration law and employment-based visa classifications

  • Strong legal drafting, research, and communication skills

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to advise clients across industries

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive for client development and team building

  • Ability to manage a high-volume, complex caseload with professionalism and efficiency

  • Collaborative team player with leadership capabilities
