Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Chicago, IL, is actively seeking a Corporate Transactional Attorney with 5-7 years of experience in corporate law. This role offers the opportunity to work with closely-held and family-owned businesses, focusing on M&A, corporate finance, and succession planning, all while building strong client relationships and contributing to the firm’s business development.

Duties:

  • Manage complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate finance, and succession planning.
  • Provide guidance on corporate governance and ensure business continuity for clients.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, offering tailored legal advice.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and collaborate with other departments within the firm.
  • Offer expert counsel in various aspects of corporate law to support clients' strategic goals.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate transactional law.
  • Extensive experience with M&A, corporate finance, and venture capital transactions.
  • Commercial real estate experience is a plus.
  • Strong client management skills with an ability to build rapport and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.
