Duties:

  • Advise clients on a wide range of environmental and land use matters, including natural resources development, land use permitting, CEQA, NEPA, and endangered species issues.
  • Draft legal documents and provide strategic counsel on compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Represent clients in hearings, negotiations, and other legal proceedings related to environmental and land use matters.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare memoranda, and offer solutions to complex regulatory issues.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and client matters.
  • Keep up to date with environmental law developments and regulatory changes.

Requirements:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in environmental law, land use, or related fields.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team collaboration.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in environmental and land use law, including CEQA, NEPA, and other environmental regulations.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to think critically and develop creative solutions for complex legal challenges.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
