Job Title: Bankruptcy Post-Confirmation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Parsippany, NJ, is expanding its Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice and is seeking a mid-level associate with 3–7 years of experience in post-confirmation matters. The ideal candidate will contribute to a growing team focused on managing complex post-confirmation issues arising from Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. This opportunity is particularly suited for individuals who bring a mix of legal acumen, strong organizational ability, and hands-on experience with trusts and post-confirmation proceedings. The position offers a dynamic environment for long-term professional development and leadership in managing high-volume, multifaceted bankruptcy matters.

Duties:

  • Represent post-confirmation trustees, plan administrators, and/or unsecured creditors and creditors' committees

  • Handle the full scope of post-confirmation activities, including claim reconciliation and trust management

  • Oversee and manage multiple concurrent post-confirmation representations

  • Draft, negotiate, and review plans, trust agreements, and administrator contracts

  • Supervise trust operations, including asset liquidation and claim resolution workflows

  • Manage internal databases to support communication with creditors and facilitate distributions

  • Lead or participate in litigation related to post-confirmation trusts

  • Work in collaboration with professionals involved during Chapter 11 administration to support the transition to post-confirmation governance

  • Finalize and manage the trust wind-down process

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of substantive experience with post-confirmation bankruptcy matters

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple case assignments simultaneously

  • Familiarity with the plan and post-confirmation trust documents

  • Proficiency in negotiating legal agreements related to post-confirmation work

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic performance preferred

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in New Jersey or eligibility for immediate transfer/waiver

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, particularly post-confirmation phases

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to build and maintain effective client relationships

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in legal documentation
