Job Overview:
A Wilmington, DE-based law firm with a regional presence is seeking a motivated associate attorney to support a growing legal practice focused on mortgage lending, financial services, and property litigation. This position involves handling a high volume of matters in a dynamic, fast-paced legal setting with room for professional growth and development. Ideal for legal professionals with an interest in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and financial services law.

Duties:

  • Manage a high-volume docket involving mortgage lending, real estate, and financial disputes

  • Prepare, review, and revise pleadings and legal documents in line with relevant jurisdictional regulations

  • Represent clients at hearings, status conferences, and other legal proceedings

  • Collaborate with internal legal teams and coordinate with clients and external counsel

  • Navigate regulatory frameworks and propose strategic solutions to reduce legal exposure

  • Maintain thorough documentation and follow internal case management protocols

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Delaware

  • Additional Bar admissions in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Maryland preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to handle large caseloads with attention to accuracy and deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively

  • Prior experience in foreclosure, title, bankruptcy, or mortgage banking law is advantageous

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Delaware Bar (mandatory)

  • Additional bar memberships in NJ, PA, or MD (preferred)

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and litigation procedure

  • Strong organizational and case management skills

  • Effective negotiation and advocacy abilities

  • Familiarity with electronic filing systems and legal software

  • Commitment to maintaining ethical and professional standards

Job Location:
