A law firm seeks a motivated Junior Associate to join its Torts & Products Liability Defense Practice. This position is ideal for attorneys with at least one year of litigation experience, particularly in torts. The role involves handling a variety of defense matters, including product liability, personal injury, and professional malpractice cases. The successful candidate will work directly with clients and develop legal strategies in both New York State and federal courts.

Duties

• Represent clients in torts and products liability defense matters in state and federal courts.

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.

• Attend hearings, depositions, and court proceedings.

• Develop case strategies and provide legal counsel to clients.

• Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.

• Participate in settlement negotiations and trial preparations.

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure effective case management.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of litigation experience, preferably in torts and product liability defense.

• Strong legal research and analytical skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

• Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and execute strategic case plans.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York State.
