Job Overview:
A boutique, mission-driven law firm is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney to join its distinguished team in Chicago, IL. The firm specializes in high-impact immigration cases for startups, professional athletes, musicians, creatives, and other innovators. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced immigration attorney to work on nationally recognized cases in a low-volume, high-quality environment while supporting advocacy efforts and maintaining work-life balance within a collaborative team culture.

Location:

  • Chicago, Illinois

Duties:

  • Manage and lead complex immigration matters for clients in sports, music, entertainment, tech, startups, and other industries

  • Prepare and review visa applications including O-1, P, H-1B, L-1A/B, and E-2

  • Prepare employment-based green card applications such as EB-1A, PERM, NIW EB-2, and EB-1C

  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff

  • Supervise and sign off on cases when needed

  • Engage in client strategy sessions and consultations

  • Contribute to public advocacy including media commentary, writing op-eds, and providing congressional testimony

  • Support firm pro bono efforts, including participation in legal clinics

  • Assist in mentoring and professional development of junior attorneys

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business immigration law

  • Strong background with visas such as O-1, P, H-1B, L-1, E-2 and employment-based green cards

  • Ability to handle complex immigration cases from start to finish

  • Commitment to high attention to detail and case quality

  • Passion for immigrant rights and social justice

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to at least one U.S. state bar in good standing

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication abilities

  • Team-oriented with leadership capabilities

  • Familiarity with immigration case management software

  • Spanish language proficiency a plus

  • Interest in media, advocacy, and thought leadership a bonus
