Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Associate Attorney to join their team in Chicago, IL, with remote work options available. This role involves supporting and leading companies through the process of securing work visas and green cards for foreign national employees. The position requires strategic decision-making in hiring and visa applications, collaborating with attorneys and paralegals, and managing multiple client matters daily.

Duties

• Evaluate cases and provide strategic solutions.
• Guide clients through immigration processes.
• Conduct regular client calls for updates and best practices.
• Review immigration petitions and responses.
• Maintain client relationships and communication.
• Support and lead assigned teams, including junior attorneys and paralegals.
• Provide coverage for attorneys on leave.
• Liaise with other attorneys or departments on projects.
• Perform legal research and prepare memoranda or briefs.

Requirements

• Licensed attorney in the United States.
• At least five years of experience in business immigration.
• Expertise with NIV visa types: H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN, L-1, O-1.
• Expertise with all stages of the PERM process.
• Experience with E-2, O-1, NIW, and EB-1A petitions is desired.
• Ability to generate and maintain client relationships is desired.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in any U.S. state.
