A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join its team. The candidate will manage a caseload of personal injury litigation cases independently, from start to trial, with the support of a full-time paralegal. They must be well-versed in Colorado civil procedure and have extensive experience in drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, and civil jury trials.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury litigation cases from inception through trial.
  • Draft pleadings, conduct depositions, and prepare/respond to written discovery and motions.
  • Analyze case records and legal issues to develop case strategies.
  • Retain and meet with experts, and prepare expert disclosures.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain good standing and be licensed to practice law in Colorado and Federal Court for the District of Colorado.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in personal injury civil litigation.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado and Federal Court for the District of Colorado.
  • Extensive knowledge of Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Civil jury trial experience is mandatory for this position.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in the State Bar of Colorado and Federal Court for the District of Colorado.

 

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting pleadings and conducting depositions.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
