A law firm in Mobile is actively seeking a highly qualified Managed Care Associate Attorney with a robust background in managed care, including expertise in provider contract and billing disputes, medical necessity, level of care, and coordination of benefits. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to the field, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and exhibit the desire to promptly assume responsibility for legal matters. This role requires a motivated, personable, and articulate individual with proven experience in a law firm setting. The candidate should have a track record of strong academic credentials and exceptional writing skills.

 

Duties:

  • Manage cases related to provider contract and billing disputes, medical necessity, level of care, and coordination of benefits.
  • Handle out-of-network payor provider litigation matters.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to assuming immediate responsibility for legal matters within the managed care practice.
  • Engage in legal research, analysis, and brief writing.
  • Participate in oral arguments and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate effectively with legal teams and other professionals within the law firm.

 

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in general litigation and/or arbitration.
  • Strong academic credentials and exceptional writing skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the field of managed care.
  • Motivated, personable, and articulate, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in a law firm environment.
  • Preferred Bar license in at least one of the following states: California, Texas, or Florida.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Preferred law school experience includes law clerk internships, moot court, or law review/journal participation.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of managed care, including provider contract and billing disputes.
  • Proficient in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong brief writing and oral argument skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Motivated with a demonstrated capability to assume immediate responsibility for legal matters.
