Job Overview

A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a highly skilled defense construction litigation labor law attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in defense construction litigation, specifically with Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6), and possess a strong background in handling contractual indemnification issues. This role requires substantial deposition experience and a comprehensive understanding of labor law-related matters.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Handle complex defense construction litigation cases involving Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
• Manage contractual indemnification issues between parties.
• Report to clients and carriers regularly on case progress and developments.
• Appear in court for conferences and motions.
• Ensure compliance with discovery obligations.
• Take and defend depositions, including substantial Labor Law depositions.
• Coordinate medical examinations related to cases.
• Prepare and file legal motions and other court documents.
• Provide strategic legal advice and develop case strategies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar is required.
• Admission to the New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania Bars is a plus.
• Extensive experience in defense construction litigation, focusing on Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
• Proven track record in handling contractual indemnification issues.
• Strong experience in taking and defending depositions.
• Ability to appear in court and handle various legal proceedings.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar (required).
• Admission to the New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania Bars (preferred).
