Duties

  • Oversee collection, valuation, and transfer of estate assets.
  • Prepare estate and fiduciary income tax returns with tax advisors.
  • Manage estate settlement tasks and draft release agreements.
  • Support attorneys with complex trust administration tasks.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure timely administration.
  • Provide exceptional client service and transparent communication.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in estate administration within a law firm or trust company.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of New York Surrogate's Court rules and tax requirements.
  • Proficiency with NetDocs, Clio, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong drafting and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and work efficiently under deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Paralegal certification or related professional credential (optional but valuable).

Skills

  • Experience with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth estates.
  • Familiarity with complex trust structures and multistate or international estate issues.
