Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Benefits Associate to join their Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation group in Winston Salem, NC. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in benefits, including qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and executive and deferred compensation arrangements. Experience in M&A, ERISA litigation, and withdrawal liability is advantageous. The role requires strong writing, oral advocacy, communication, and legal analysis skills, with a preference for those who thrive in a collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Advise on qualified retirement plans and health & welfare plans.
  • Support executive and deferred compensation arrangements.
  • Assist in benefits and compensation aspects of M&A transactions.
  • Contribute to ERISA litigation and withdrawal liability matters.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of benefits experience in private practice.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent legal analysis skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

Education

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
