Duties

  • Represent clients before the IRS and California taxing authorities at all controversy stages.
  • Handle complex dispute resolution, including audit defense and appeals.
  • Advise on employment tax, international reporting, and civil penalty exposure.
  • Coordinate on entity structuring and tax-efficient strategies.
  • Draft protest letters, position memos, and closing agreements.
  • Collaborate with a legal team in a boutique environment.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Active membership in the California Bar in good standing.
  • 3-5 years of experience in tax, estate planning, and related fields.
  • Proven success in IRS and California tax authority representation.
  • Familiarity with Tax Court procedure and tax controversy preferred.
  • Strong research and drafting skills with knowledge of tax law.
  • Experience collaborating with CPAs and managing document-intensive matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a client-centered mindset.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California Bar.
