A law firm seeks a Construction Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Jacksonville, FL office. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with 0-3 years of experience in construction defect litigation to further develop their skills. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of managing cases independently, and willing to collaborate within a litigation team. Duties

  • Research and prepare legal documents such as briefs, opinions, and memorandums.
  • Evaluate new cases and propose litigation strategies, including determining the best approach for claims.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents, with the ability to conduct depositions and examinations under oath.
  • Handle litigation of pre-trial motions effectively.
  • Represent clients in mediation and trial, including in jury trials.
  • Manage client files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and client requirements.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
  • 0-3 years of experience in construction defect litigation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with ProLaw is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar.
  • Preferred membership in the Middle, Northern, and Southern Districts of Florida.

Skills

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Excellent understanding of litigation procedures, including deposition preparation and trial representation.
  • Good case management skills, with attention to detail in meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with legal software such as ProLaw (preferred).
  • Ability to think critically and strategically in developing litigation plans.
