A law firm seeks a highly skilled and experienced Construction Attorney to join its team in the Jacksonville area. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in construction law, with prior experience in insurance defense being a strong advantage. Duties

  • Provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of construction-related matters, including contracts, disputes, and regulatory issues.
  • Represent clients in construction-related litigation, including insurance defense cases.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards and protecting clients' interests.
  • Advise clients on risk management strategies and construction project-related legal issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to build strong case strategies.
  • Stay updated on evolving construction laws and regulations to provide cutting-edge legal advice.
  • Attend client meetings, hearings, and mediations as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction law, preferably with exposure to insurance defense.
  • Strong litigation experience with an emphasis on construction-related disputes.
  • Solid understanding of relevant state and federal construction laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal matters independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Florida (or eligibility for admission).

Skills

  • Expertise in construction law, including contract law and dispute resolution.
  • Strong litigation and case management skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of risk management in construction projects.
