Junior Partner - Personal Injury and Automobile Negligence Defense

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Junior Partner for its Garden City, New York office. The candidate should have over 8 years of experience as a trial lawyer with more than ten verdicts in personal injury and automobile negligence actions, including UM/UIM and PIP cases. This role requires managing a litigation caseload from inception through trial and appeals.

Duties

• Handle a high-volume caseload independently and with supervision.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery demands.
• Take depositions and make court appearances.
• Develop and execute strategy with clients.
• Analyze medical records and insurance policies.
• Perform legal research and jury verdict searches.
• Maintain excellent client relationships and meet all deadlines.
• Record and maintain billable hours accurately.
• Mentor junior associates and delegate work.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in defense litigation.
• Trial experience with at least ten jury verdicts.
• Experience in personal injury and automobile negligence defense.
• Experience with high-volume clients and case settlements.
• Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Admitted to practice in New York and U.S. District Court for the District of New York.
• Additional Federal Court experience is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admitted to the New York State Bar.
