Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Counsel - Employment Law to join their team in San Francisco, CA. This role involves managing employment law matters affecting the firm's attorneys and business professionals across all U.S. offices. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and may consider other U.S. locations for the right candidate.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on employment law topics across U.S. jurisdictions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related documents.
  • Assist with U.S. employment litigation, disputes, and administrative charges.
  • Draft responses to employment-related subpoenas and personnel file requests.
  • Monitor employment legislation and provide legal advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Protect and maintain sensitive, confidential, and proprietary information.

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to conduct legal research and draft detailed written work.
  • Strong client counseling skills with clear communication of complex legal concepts.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in good standing in a jurisdiction with a firm U.S. office.

Skills

  • Minimum of four years of employment law experience, including counseling and/or litigation.
  • Experience with a law firm Office of General Counsel or in-house experience preferred.
