Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Newport Beach, CA is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its expanding practice, focusing on insurance defense matters. This role offers hands-on experience working directly with senior attorneys through all stages of litigation, from case inception to trial. Duties:

• Handle an active caseload in insurance defense litigation

• Conduct written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and requests for production

• Take and defend depositions

• Draft motions and oppositions, including motions for summary judgment

• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda as needed

• Collaborate closely with senior attorneys on trial preparation and court appearances

• Maintain clear, organized documentation of all case activities

Requirements:

• Civil litigation experience preferred.

•  Previous experience in Medical Malpractice is a plus.

• Familiarity with insurance defense practices; medical malpractice exposure is advantageous.

• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Proven ability to work both independently and within a team setting

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
