Job Overview:
A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Phoenix office. This position offers the opportunity to work with a nationally recognized practice group focused on complex corporate restructurings, Chapter 11 bankruptcies, and creditors' rights matters. Ideal candidates will have 3 to 6 years of relevant experience, particularly in representing stakeholders in business bankruptcies and distressed asset matters. The role provides strong potential for professional growth in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Location:

  • Phoenix, Arizona

Duties:

  • Represent creditors, debtors, and other parties in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings

  • Handle litigation matters related to insolvency, creditor enforcement, and commercial disputes

  • Support corporate restructuring and municipal insolvency engagements (Chapter 9)

  • Advise clients on distressed asset acquisitions and debt workouts, both in and out of court

  • Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal briefs in bankruptcy court

  • Conduct legal research and develop strategic litigation plans

  • Interact directly with clients and opposing counsel

  • Collaborate with partners and team members on case strategy and execution

Requirements:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in bankruptcy and creditors’ rights litigation

  • Background in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and related commercial litigation

  • Familiarity with debtor-creditor laws and restructuring processes

  • Proven ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and effectively

  • Commitment to high-quality work and client service

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Arizona (required)

  • Active license in California (strongly preferred)

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in legal drafting

  • Strong research and analytical capabilities

  • Effective communicator with the ability to interact with clients and team members

  • Organized, proactive, and capable of managing deadlines and competing priorities
