Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A reputable San Diego-based law firm specializing in consumer debt relief and bankruptcy services is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to support its expanding practice. Ideal candidates will be attorneys recently admitted to practice or legal professionals aiming to transition into the specialized and rewarding field of bankruptcy and consumer advocacy law. This role offers exceptional professional growth opportunities through mentorship by seasoned attorneys in a collaborative and educational environment.

Duties:

  • Manage caseloads involving primarily consumer and small business bankruptcies (Chapter 7 and Chapter 13), with occasional Chapter 11 matters.

  • Draft and prepare legal documentation, including motions, petitions, pleadings, and additional filings.

  • Perform thorough legal research and draft comprehensive memoranda to assist senior attorneys.

  • Conduct initial consultations, analyze client financial situations, and advise clients on their options.

  • Represent clients at bankruptcy hearings and interact professionally with trustees, court personnel, and administrative staff.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in California or recent Bar examinees awaiting results.

  • Proven proficiency in legal writing, analytical thinking, and persuasive communication.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively counsel diverse clientele.

  • Ability to efficiently manage caseloads, meet deadlines, and collaborate with team members.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • California Bar License (Preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and case management capabilities.

  • Adept at conducting legal research utilizing diverse resources.

  • Detail-oriented approach in drafting precise and persuasive legal documents.

  • The capacity to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and empathetically to clients.
