Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Austin, TX, is seeking a skilled litigation attorney to take on a leadership position in its personal injury division. This opportunity is ideal for a trial-ready litigator who can oversee case strategy, manage the litigation workflow, and contribute to advancing the firm’s plaintiff-side personal injury practice. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience navigating complex litigation, including discovery, depositions, and courtroom advocacy.

Duties:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and personnel within the personal injury litigation department

  • Develop and implement litigation strategies for injury claims from intake through trial

  • Manage caseloads and supervise associate attorneys and support staff

  • Conduct and defend depositions, handle written discovery, and draft motions

  • Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and trials

  • Collaborate with pre-litigation teams and ensure smooth case handoffs

  • Guide case valuation and settlement negotiations

  • Maintain detailed and organized case files, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience focusing on personal injury litigation

  • Strong foundation in Texas civil procedure and personal injury law

  • Demonstrated experience conducting depositions and managing discovery

  • Proven capability in managing a docket from filing through trial

  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills

  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail

  • Effective leadership and case management capabilities

  • Proficiency in legal software and case management systems

  • Ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
