Job Overview:
A respected immigration law firm is seeking a dedicated, experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of family-based immigration experience, with additional experience in waiver and immigrant visa consular processing considered a plus. The position requires someone who is organized, responsible, and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of immigration cases, providing high-quality representation to clients.

Location:

  • Houston, Texas

Duties:

  • Develop and implement case strategies for various immigration matters.
  • Prepare and file adjustment of status applications, immigrant visa applications, naturalization applications, waivers, VAWA petitions, RFE/NOID responses, and FOIA requests.
  • Conduct legal research on immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Represent clients in immigration matters, including attending field office interviews.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding immigration options and strategy.
  • Maintain case files and ensure all relevant documents are properly prepared and filed in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in family-based immigration law; business immigration experience is a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of immigrant visa petitions and consular processing.
  • Experience in handling family-based petitions, waivers, adjustment of status, VAWA petitions, and consular processing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and research abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of immigration laws and procedures, especially in family-based immigration matters.
  • Proficiency in preparing and filing immigration-related petitions and applications.
  • Ability to represent clients effectively in interviews and hearings.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
