Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Lead eDiscovery Attorney, preferably based in Silicon Valley, to guide and support clients and case teams through all phases of eDiscovery. The role involves advising on preservation, processing, review, and production, and collaborating with various stakeholders to implement best practices.

Duties

  • Advise clients and case teams on all phases of eDiscovery.
  • Provide guidance on pre-litigation information governance and trial support.
  • Lead negotiations on ESI protocols and prepare eDiscovery motions.
  • Collaborate to develop tailored eDiscovery workflows and protocols.
  • Advise on data disposition, legal holds, and records retention policies.
  • Oversee and train a team of Litigation Staff Attorneys.
  • Ensure eDiscovery workflows focus on risk mitigation and cost control.
  • Monitor changes to eDiscovery rules and regulations.
  • Liaise with teams to deploy and troubleshoot eDiscovery technologies.
  • Partner to develop training programs on document reviews.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • At least 7 years of eDiscovery experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws and best practices.
  • Experience with eDiscovery review platforms.
  • Ability to manage complex discovery workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and risk management focus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Relevant certifications in eDiscovery preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency in eDiscovery review platforms.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
