Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Corpus Christi, TX, seeks a seasoned litigation attorney to lead personal injury matters from inception through verdict. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who thrives in high-stakes environments and values strategic autonomy, collaboration with dedicated legal support, and courtroom advocacy. The role includes extensive client interaction, case planning, motion practice, trial leadership, and active participation in the firm’s mission to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Duties:

  • Manage a docket of personal injury cases from intake through trial

  • Conduct initial case assessments, including liability, damages, and recovery feasibility

  • Develop and implement case-specific litigation strategies in coordination with a legal team

  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, motions, and pleadings

  • Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and witnesses

  • Handle court appearances, hearings, and mediations independently

  • Lead trial preparation and serve as first or second chair in jury trials (targeting approximately three per year)

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel

  • Oversee support staff, including paralegals and legal assistants

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience litigating personal injury cases

  • Strong foundation in case analysis, trial readiness, and client advocacy

  • Demonstrated ability to lead trial preparation and execution

  • Prior experience first or second chairing jury trials

  • Proficiency in oral and written legal argumentation

  • Skilled at managing multiple deadlines and complex caseloads

  • Adept at using legal practice and case management technologies

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas and good standing

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal writing and oral advocacy skills

  • Strategic thinker with attention to legal detail and business implications

  • High emotional intelligence with a team-oriented mindset
